Behind every seamless IT system is an expert ensuring its efficiency, security, and scalability. Tim Walker, Senior Service Architect at Main Street Technical Services, is one of those experts!


With over 30 years of IT experience, Tim has built a career rooted in problem-solving, leadership, and technical innovation—especially within JD Edwards (JDE) enterprise systems.


Since joining Main Street in 2024, Tim has played a pivotal role in supporting JDE environments, implementing IT solutions, and leading strategic system improvements. His experience spans hardware engineering, Microsoft and Novell networks, and enterprise application security.

From Hardware Engineering to Enterprise IT Leadership

Tim’s career in IT began in hardware engineering in 1989, where he quickly gained expertise in networking, systems architecture, and enterprise software solutions. His journey led him to JDE managed services, where he became a leader in application security, system upgrades, and IT automation.


At Main Street, his expertise in JDE support and IT ticketing system integration has been instrumental in optimizing client operations. His responsibilities include:


  • JDE CNC consulting: Managing and supporting client enterprise systems

  • Halo PSA implementation: Leading the rollout of Main Street’s new IT ticketing system

  • Enterprise system upgrades & integrations: Ensuring seamless transitions and improved performance


One of Tim’s biggest accomplishments at Main Street has been introducing and implementing Halo Professional Services Automation (PSA), which replaced an outdated ticketing and timesheet system. This integration has streamlined workflows, improved efficiency, and enhanced organizational project management.

Tim’s technical leadership extends beyond internal process improvements—he has also played a key role in helping enterprise clients expand and optimize their IT ecosystems.


A standout project involved working with a global industrial automotive manufacturer, where he helped:


  • Expand JDE infrastructure to support M&A growth

  • Integrate JDE systems with overseas manufacturing operations

  • Optimize IT workflows to enhance production efficiency


His ability to understand business challenges and implement scalable IT solutions makes him an invaluable asset to both Main Street and its clients.


A Passion for Learning & Giving Back

Tim stays ahead of industry trends by actively participating in Oracle trainings, JDE conferences, and regional user groups (RUGs). As the President of the Nashville Oracle/PeopleSoft/JD Edwards RUG, he not only stays informed on the latest advancements but also shares his expertise with the broader IT community.


Beyond his IT career, Tim is deeply committed to public service and mentorship. As a Fayette County Fire Department captain, certified firefighter, EMT, and rescue tech, he dedicates his time to serving the community and mentoring first responders. He’s also a BBQ competition cook, a woodworking enthusiast, and a proud grandfather of three.


Looking Ahead: A Vision for Leadership

With decades of experience in IT and enterprise applications, Tim’s next goal is to step into an operational leadership role within Main Street’s Apps department. His vision includes:


  • Expanding Main Street’s managed services capabilities and offerings

  • Implementing IT automation through AI-driven processes

  • Mentoring and developing future IT leaders


With a track record of innovation, leadership, and client success, Tim continues to drive Main Street Technical Services’ growth and impact.
